Sassafraz genuinely welcomes a small dog on its seasonal Yorkville patio — on our July visit Cheerio was given his own seat at the Cumberland/Bellair corner table and an unprompted bowl of ice-chilled water, and the staff were delighted by him. It's patio-only and seasonal (Ontario law keeps pet dogs off indoor dining rooms), the cover is real (we sat out a downpour bone-dry under awnings and umbrellas), and the one honest caveat is the busy streetside setting: Cumberland traffic and passing pedestrians and dogs make it lively rather than serene, so a noise-sensitive dog may find it a lot. Note too that the restaurant's own website still shows an outdated 'no dogs on patios' line — it's stale; dogs are welcome.
